To respond to LH, I dont think the comments regarding playing on Sundays was really aimed at Harvs, everyone knows he puts in 110% for the first team, that is not questionable, neither does anyone think he trys to be Pele on a Sunday.
I cannot be the voice for everyone who has played for the First Team this year but I have been personally disappointed with the season overall, not through the fault of Malc or Macky but a lack of form throughout, myself included! This has ultimately been reflected in the final league standings whereby on paper with the team with have got we should of been pushing for a top 5 finish, unfortunately this has not been the case and I am personally very disappointed with this. I would tend to agree that sometimes there does appear to be a lack of passion within the squad and perhaps losing doesnt hurt some players as much as others. Noone likes to lose but it is how you deal with losing after games looking forward to the next that matters and perhaps this is an area that we as a TEAM all need to reflect upon ready for the start of next season.
To close I would like to say a big thankyou on behalf of the players to both Malc and Macky for their efforts over the last couple of years it has been much appreciated.

It is good to see that the website is attracting comments as we approach the end of the season. And in a free and democratic society, only one signing has been held back during the season due to content. The comments are healthy and reflect a range of views not necessarily two sides. It is disappointing that supporters and members do not feel that they can stand by their convictions and 'name' themselves. People with a view to make about Shaftesbury FC are so much the minority that they are well on the way to be 'qualified' to serve on the committee or support the club in some other way. There are plans in the air to take this club to the next level and attendance at the AGM should be a mandatory part of paying your membership. It is disappointing to reflect that the last couple of AGM's have barely had a quorum. That in itself is a message and I have an interpretation of what that message is, but do others have a view? In my view, what is needed is a cultural shift where everybody involved can be identified as part of a team and I will leave you to make your own minds up whether the comments in the guestbook over the season are stones thrown from a distance or the ingredients to making that team. This is not a rallying call and just like all of you I am entitled to express an opinion. And before the accusations fly about who I am, if you don't know who the Shaftesbury bluenose is you will find the answer under club, committee, treasurer in the left hand margin. Come on you Rockies (and you blues)

I would like to ask Ian what relevance he thinks the club captain playing on a sundays has to the level of commitment he gives to shaftesbury first team I think most people will agree that he is one of the players who puts in 110% every game.
I wouldn't say he is trying to be a Pele on a sunday morning either - I would say he is just trying to play the game he loves as much as he can before he becomes one of those people who stand on the side line watching, claiming they know how things should be done!

Malc and Macky didn’t do too badly, just lost the plot tactically mid-way through the season. Lets hope the new manager will run a tighter ship with the players and believe football is a team game which at this level does not justify some players being paid whilst others who commit to 100% plus to practice and matches get nothing. Perhaps a win bonus would be the fairest and best way forward, this way players will not be able to consider themselves better than the rest, just because they are getting paid!!!

Not sure who is in the running for the job but have heard a few names mentioned, Andy Ford I know has expressed an interest and it sounds like the players would be more than happy if he was appointed. He is a well known footballing face in the area and has an abundance of technical knowledge and skill, he also runs a very regimented team whereby the players know what is and is not acceptable, perhaps he is just what Shaftesbury FC needs in order to press onto the next level. Any comments please??

I think everyone realises that a season which promised much more has been a little disappointing to say the least. I agree with ??? (Don't be scared to put a name to your comments not that you have to if you don't want of course) that some of the players just haven't got the right mentality to take this club into a position where they can challenge at the business end of the league. I think that you are maybe a little harsh with regards to the comment on injuries but I think that you are correct with your assessment that some of them don't appear to have the heart. I think its apparent that some of the players (4 or 5 maybe) from what I have seen are a) Not good enough and b) Do not have the right attitude
Only my opinion of course :-)
